    Biography

Los Angeles native, Marques T. Owens was born July 9, 1977 and as an extremely innovative only-child, he always knew he wanted to be apart of the entertainment industry in a creative way. After prestigious internships at Warner Bros. and A&M Records, he realized his calling was to direct films and music videos. Upon graduating from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia, Owens ran successful businesses in graphic design, photography, and video production. It was in 2004 when Owens finally decided to move back to Los Angeles and begin his directing career. Immediately upon his arrival, he wrote and directed his first comedy feature "Occupation: Hollywood, The Movie" which won him the Robert Rodriguez Award of Excellence at the 2005 Hollywood DV Festival. This was the highest award in the festival and was the monumental beginning of his promising directing career. Since Owens' debut directorial effort, he has directed music videos including one for Yukmouth (formerly of the rap group, The Luniz), and "Legalize Me", the solo debut video for D. Woods (formerly of MTV/Bad Boy Ent. platinum selling R&B group, Danity Kane). In 2007, in an effort to showcase his talent for directing; Marques wrote, directed, and starred-in an 8-minute short film which included a few of his celebrity friends. The short was used to promote his 30th birthday party and was entitled "07-07-07". This James Bond inspired 'cinematic invitation' is still spoken about today and furthermore, is a concept that many have attempted to emulate ever since.

Henceforth, Marques has embarked on many other productions, most-notable-to-date is a year long documentary project for Oscar Award winning actor/ Grammy Award winning musician, Jamie Foxx and his company FoxxKing Entertainment. Mr. Owens has worked with and collaborated with such names as Samuel L. Jackson, Jake Gyllenhal, Forrest Whittaker, Ron Howard, Tyrese Gibson, Taraji P. Henson, T-Pain, Keyshia Cole, and more. From music videos, short films, documentaries, to feature films... Marques T. Owens (a.k.a. "MO the Mogul") strives to continue to direct films and tell stories through his slick, contrasty, fast cutting, and vibrant style.
